Startling? But it’s true! Gilera Motorcycles do give you less. Les mechanical difficulties. Less tune-ups. Less aggravation. And a whole bunch of other things that you get more of with other motorcycles. For 56 years, Gilera has devoted itself to creating a legend. The competition history of Gilera is well-known. It has won more races than any other motorcycle in the world! The service history of Gilera is negligible. We haven’t had enough of them in the shop to give you accurate statistics. Buy the motorcycle that gives you less of everything except fun. It’s Europe’s most popular motorcycle, and European people, by nature and necessity, are quited thrifty. What are you waiting for? 10 models, 98cc to 300cc. Priced from $399.00.
Here’s a brand new motorcycle with a split personality. With its fantastically versatile wide ratio gear box, Gilera’s Town & Country 98 flattens mountains into freeways and whips along in city traffic like a hot street bike…
Cover: A fitting tribute to the outstanding star at Daytona International Speedway in March is this speed study of Gary Nixon astride his winning Triumph. If you’re the eagle-eyed type you may have noted that Gary was wearing white leathers in the 200-Mile AMA National Championship. Photographer Jerry West snapped this fine shot during practice (Undoubtedly the status symbol of a successful racer will now be the ownership of two sets of leathers!). The day before the 200 Nixon also copped the 100-miler for 250cc Class riding a Yamaha.
