“The Sunshine State”
As David and Jacquie experienced too many tmes first hand, Florida’s oxymoronic state motto deivered more than its share of condensation to the populace and visitors alike. “You can depend on the rain not just to fall, but to dry up at a stop light and it would be pouring on the other side of the street. Every day about 3 p.m., we’d be riding around and have to pull into a bar and wait things out. It’d eventually dry up, and we’d be on our way.”
The nature of Caribbean tropical air masses condensing as they cooled from the afternoon air may have been great for Florida’s spectacular flora and fauna, but it all too often played hell with a biker’s riding plans. However, if there was a silver lining to these clouds, it was the scents that followed, a faceful of which was gratefully grabbed by delayed bikers anxious to continue their journey to hopefully drier points… until 3:30 the next day.
